SSSChamps Intro

The National Secondary Schools' Shooting Championship - better known as The NZ Triple S Champs - is New Zealand's newest shooting competition and is now in its 13th year. It is open to all NZ secondary school students. This is aimed at giving secondary school shooters the chance to compete nationally for both individual and team glory and recognition.

Oh! My! Goodness!  The tension was unbearable this last round as we were watching the scores come in.  Would Blake continue his fantastic form?  Would Megan win for a record-breaking third time?  Or would someone else overtake both of them and claim the glory?  And the results are in....

The SSS Champs for 2023 has finished....Congratulations to Megan Brodie from Queen Margaret College - our Secondary Schools' Shooting Championship winner for 2023

Megan's second round 96.4 had put her on the back foot and she was always playing catch up as Blake Allison continued his fantastic winning streak, but it all came down to her brilliant final round of 198.14 - the highest score of the round and one which propelled her to the win with a total of 492.26.  A mere 4 inners behind (on 492.22) was second placed Charlotte McKenzie from Ashburton College who was then just a single inner ahead of Caley McNair (on 492.21) from Dannevirke High School.  I don't think we've had a final three so close in the entire time this competition has been running.  This is a real testament to the shooting talent that we've seen this year.

Charlotte McKenzie (492.22), Caley McNair (492.21) and Ryan Booth (490.23) are the top 3 in A Grade taking it to the wire with each of them managing to hold onto their positions from the 3rd round.

In B Grade, Finn Darrall's 197.10 allowed him to overtake Blake Allison's final round of 192.06 to win by B Grade by a single inner, with Phoebe McKenzie's 196.09 putting her a single point behind Blake for 3rd place.  Again, a single point separating our top 3 B Graders. Awesome stuff!!!

In C Grade, Bryn Blacklaws (488.18) was under pressure from Zach Wood (485.18) who clawed back 3 points in the final round, but Bryn's lead from Round 3 was enough for him to take the C Grade win by 3 points Eliza McKenzie follwed them into 3rd place with a respectable final score of 481.16.

In D Grade it was Toby in front, then Tyler and then Toby and.... congratulations to Toby for hanging on for the win with the top D Grade score of 195.07, finishing 8 points clear of second placed Sophia Clifford (476.09) who managed to leapfrog Tyler Kerr whose final score of 475.11 gave him 3rd place just a single inner behind.

In the School Team's event, AshburtonCollege Gold team delivered just that - gold - with an outstanding shoot throughout the entire competition (total: 1954.94) to take first place by an incredible 14 pointsCambridge High School 1 took a well deserved second place with 1940.71, a clear 20 points ahead of Ashburton College Red's 1920.57.

Deadlines for each round were:

Round 1 10 shot card Completed by Sunday 4th June

Round 2 10 shot card Completed by Sunday 2nd July

Round 3 10 shot card Completed by Sunday 6th August

Round 4 20 shot card Completed by Sunday 3rd September

And Round 3 for 2023 has finished....

Blake Allison's fantastic run of 100's didn't last, but then again it didn't have to!  His 99.3 extended his lead by another point to be 4 ahead of Charlotte McKenzie whose 100.5 saw her storm into second place, 2 inners ahead of Caley McNair on 295.11.

Charlotte McKenzie (295.13), Caley McNair (295.11) and Ryan Booth (294.15) are the top 3 in A Grade so a single point separating them will make for a gripping final round.  Madi Tourle's been improving through the whole competition and her brilliant 100.4 has lifted her to 4th in A Grade.

In B Grade, Blake Allison (299.13) is now 5 points clear of Phoebe McKenzie (294.18) who holds a slim lead of 5 inners over Finn Darrall (294.13).  Will Finn overtake Phoebe?  Will Phoebe keep ahead of Finn?  Or will both of them beat Blake?  We'll know soon enough.....

In C Grade, Bryn Blacklaws (293.11) has continued to extend his lead to be 6 points ahead of Eliza McKenzie (289.10) whose solid 98.4 moved her into second place.  Luke Rhodes (288.10) rounds out the top 3, a single point behind Eliza. Bryn's lead would look safe, if it wasn't for the final round's 20 shot match where anything can, and usually does, happen!

In D Grade it was Toby in front, then Tyler and now Toby again and with a single point separating them (289.10 vs 288.07) who'll come out on top is anyone's guess, but with Courtney Parlett (285.03) just three points behind them they'd better keep an eye out for the competition too!

And Round 2 for 2023 has finished....

Well, if you thought Blake Allison's 100.4 in the first round was just a fluke then you'd better think again!  He just shot a brilliant 100.6 to extend his lead to 3 points over Ryan Booth on 197.13 and Caley McNair on 197.08.  Fantastic shooting!!!

Ryan's still leading A Grade, but Caley McNair has closed the gap to be a mere 5 inners behind so Caley's keeping the pressure on Ryan for sure!

In B Grade, Blake Allison's 100.6 puts him on 200.10, four points ahead of Finn Darrall's 196.10 and Phoebe McKenzie's 195.12.  Again, excellent scores for B Grade!

In C Grade, Bryn Blacklaws extended his lead to be 2 points ahead of Chris Duff's 192.08, with Chris just a single inner ahead of Luke Rhodes.  C Grade remains as competitive as ever!

In D Grade, Tyler Kerr has swapped places with Toby Gyde. Tyler is in 1st place on 191.05 with Sophia Clifford and Toby Gyde equal on 191.04, a mere inner behind Tyler.  D Grade is really shaping up to be the most competitive of all the grades!

Round 1 for 2023 has finished....

The top shot this round was Blake Allison (Cambridge High School) with a fantastic 100.4 (the only 100 in this opening round). Well done Blake. Just a single inner separates the 99.5 from Ryan Booth (Darfield High School) and the 99.4 from Megan Brodie (Queen Margaret College), so the competition is looking tight at the top of the leaderboard.

Ryan's leading A Grade, but with Jack Jones and Caley McNair both on 98.4 Ryan won't have much of a chance to relax!

In B Grade, Blake Allison's 100.4 puts him two points clear of Finn Darrall's 98.6 and Phoebe McKenzie's 97.5.  These are great scores for B Grade!

In C Grade, Bryn Blacklaws' 97.3 is just a single point ahead of Zach Wood and Chris Duff who are both on 96.3.  It looks like the competition in C Grade is also going to be really tight.

In D Grade, Toby Gyde's and Sophia Clifford's scores are separated by just 2 inners (96.3 and 96.1 respectively) with Tyler Kerr just another point back on 95.3.  Well done on a great first round!

Is this a team or an individual thing?

Both! Every shooter enters an individual category first. Then, if 4 or 5 individual shooters at a school want to, they can put a team together. Schools can enter as many teams as they wish (of course, one shooter can only shoot for one team!).

What are the categories?

Master Grade

Teams can be made up of shooters from any grades (including ungraded). The winning teams will be the one with the highest scores.

The prizes

At the end of the competition, badges and certificates will be awarded for:

Certificates will also be awarded to the top 3 schools in the team event.

It's all over for 2022 and what an amazing final round it was.  Megan Brodie had left the door open a crack for Emmily MacLean to have a chance of winning, but Megan's 198.17 (a 98.7 on the first card and, yes, a 100.10 on the second!!!) was enough to seal the deal and win by just a point and two inners. Congratulations, Megan Brodie - our overall Champion for 2022 (and Master Grade Champion as well)

Emmily MacLean took 2nd place overall, clear of D Grader Sama Sooialo whose incredible final round of 200.10 rocketed her from 11th into 3rd place.  Brilliant shooting from all of you.

Congratulations to our A Grade winner - Piper Benbow, finishing 4 points ahead of Madi Tourle whose great final round lifted her into 2nd place, just a single point ahead of 3rd placed Ryan Booth.

Congratulations to Emmily MacLean who led B Grade from start to finish.  If our calculations are correct, her 494.31 is the highest ever shot in B Grade in the history of this competition!  Caley McNair and Finn Darrall both had great final rounds to lift them to 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

Congratulations to Matilda Panchaud who continued her winning form into the final round to secure 1st place in C GradePhoebe McKenzie's final round 194.06 lifted her to 2nd place with Harry Newrick jumping up from 5th spot to take 3rd place.

Congratulations to Sama Sooialo who absolutely crushed it with a 200.10 in the final round to take a well-deserved 1st place in D Grade.  Alesha Alexander was another shooter to have a great final round to go from 4th to 2nd place and Zara Shannon similarly made the jump from 5th to secure 3rd place.

Darfield College's run in the top spot of the Teams event was brought to an abrupt halt by Ashburton's Number 1 team that outscored Darfield by an incredible 20 points to take 1st place, with Darfield coming home ahead of Ashburton's Nr 2 team.

We hope you enjoyed this year's competition as much as we did.  It was amazing to see those scores coming through each round, with so many shooters achieving personal best scores under the competition pressure, even with the continuing interuptions caused by COVID.  Well done to all you shooters and your coaches, your schools and your families who have supported and encouraged you throughout this season.

Best wishes for a relaxing Summer break (unless you're continuing with your indoor training or trying your hand at outdoor in which case keep working on your form and the results are sure to follow).

Kind regards,

The SSS Champs Coordinators

Round 3 is done and the pressure is ratcheting up.  Megan Brodie (Queen Margaret College) posted a 100.5 - the first 100 of this year's competition to take the lead from Emmily MacLean by one point, though Emmily has an incredible 20 inners to Megan's 16.  Amelia Swann remains in third place, but with a 20 shot final round it's still anyone's for the taking.  Last year there were four 198's and a 199 in the final round... who knows how this year will end?

In A grade, Piper Benbow has stretched out to a 3 point lead over Ryan Booth.  In B grade, Amelia Swann is 2 points behind Emmily MacLean with Caley McNair just another 2 points behind.  Matilda Panchaud is out to a 4 point lead over Blake Woolley in C Grade with Alex Thomas and Analin Rudd 2 points behind.  Lexi Thomson-Hall has a 2 point lead over Sama Sooialo in D Grade with Luke Rhodes another point behind.

Darfield High remains in first place in the Teams event with Ashburton's Number 1 team still leading their Number 2 team.

Well done to all shooters for maintaining such great results.  With the competition scores being so close, and with COVID continuing to impact on clubs and competitors, please make sure that you get your final cards shot before the deadline (Sunday 11th September).

Round 2  is over.

The top shot this round was Emmily MacLean (Craighead Diocesan School) with 99.7. This has moved her into first place (198.13) ahead of Megan Brodie (Queen Margaret College) and Amelia Swann (Mt Hutt College) both just a point behind on 197.11.

In the Teams event Darfield High have overtaken Ashburton College to lead by just 1 point. Ashburton College #2 are in third place just 4 points ahead of Dannevirke High.

That's Round 1 done, and some great scores right from the start.  Amelia Swann (Mt Hutt College) and Megan Brodie (Queen Margaret College) both shot impressive 99.8's but they can't afford to relax with Emmily MacLean (Craighead Diocesan School) a mere 2 inners behind them.

In the graded section, Megan Brodie is leading Master Grade.   Piper Benbow and Ryan Booth (both from DarfieldHigh School) are leading A Grade, separated by only 3 inners.  Amelia Swann and Emmily MacLean are certainly going head to head in B Grade with their 99's.  Kate Yu (Samuel Marsden Collegiate) posted a fantastic 98.7 to lead C Grade.  Luke Rhodes (Ashburton College) shot a great 98.4 to lead D Grade.

In the Teams event, four teams shot in the 380's and are separated by just 4 points so it's definitely too early to start to pick any winners!

That's it!!!   The 2021 SSS Champs is over and we have our winners!

After Round 1, the top shot this round was Fletcher Hall (King's High School) with a fantastic 100.8. Well done Fletcher. Only inners behind were Stephanie McNair (Palmerston North Girls' High School) 100.7 and Megan Brodie (Queen Margaret College) 100.6.

The Teams event is already shaping up as being hotly contested, with Palmerston North Girls’ High only 2 points ahead of Whanganui High School and 4 points ahead of defending champions Ashburton. College.

After Round 2, the top shot this round was Megan Brodie (Queen Margaret College) with another 100.6 for a total of 200.12. Well done Megan. This puts her just 1 point ahead of Stephanie McNair (Palmerston North Girls' High School) who is on 199.13 and just another point behind that is James Gray (Whanganui High School) on 198.15. These are top notch scores - Well done!

In the Graded events, the C graders have really set a great example with 6 shooters scoring 98 or better. Matilda Panchaud (Dannevirke High School) leading the way with 100.4 this round. However Finn Darrall (Upper Hutt College) and Eddie Millichamp (Mt Hutt College) are leading C grade, both on scores of 195.08

In the Teams event Palmerston North Girls’ High School extended their lead by another 2 points to be just 4 points ahead of Whanganui High School. Just another 6 points further back are Ashburton College in third place.

Round 3 has just been shot and what a cracker of a competition it's turning out to be.  Since gaining the lead in round 2, Megan Brodie isn't giving anyone the way to get past her, shooting yet another 100.6 (yes... that's three 100.6's she's shot in a row now, so you have to admire that consistency and ability!), but Stephanie McNair is only a point behind in 2nd place, having shot an exceptional 100.9James Gray is 4 points adrift in 3rd place, but the final round is a 20 shot card so it's all up for grabs in perhaps the most exciting final round showdown we've ever had!!!

In the Grades, Stephanie McNair (299.22) is leading Master Grade, Megan Brodie (300.18) is leading A Grade, Cassie Truscott (289.10) is leading B Grade, Finn Darrall (293.11) is leading C Grade and OIiver Mitchell (290.11) is leading D Grade.  None of them are too far out in front to be caught so, again, there's everything to shoot for in this final round.

In the Teams event Palmerston North Girls’ High has romped out to a 15 point lead over defending champions Ashburton College who have overtaken Whanganui High School for second place.

Round 4 - the final round for 2021

Despite the best efforts by COVID 19 to disrupt shooting in New Zealand, we extended the final round to allow time for all the shooters to get back to their ranges after lockdown and now Round 4, the final round, has been shot and the results are in.  Megan Brodie was leading Stephanie McNair by a single point and Stephanie had a higher inner count so it all came down to the final shoot.  Megan shot a 198.13 but Stephanie beat her this round with a 198.14 (for a total of 497.36) - both fantastic scores but Megan managed to hold on to take the overal 2021 SSS Championship win by that single point with a total of 498.31, setting a new SSS Champs record as well - Megan and Stephanie both beat Jack Cavanagh's record of 497.31 which had stood unbeaten since 2013.   Our congratulations to Megan and Stephanie for a brilliant and close-fought competition and for both raising the standard of shooting to a new record high.  Briar Summerhays maintained her lead and stay two inners ahead of a late charge by Abby Pierce to finish in a well deserved 3rd place.  Of note is Emmily MacLean's final round score of 199.15 (the top score across the whole of the final round) which catapulted her from 3rd place in C grade to take the C grade win.  Well done!

In the graded competition the winners were:

After many years of battling, Palmerston North Girls' High School has finally beaten Ashburton College to take the Teams win with a final score of 1929.78.

Congratulations to all our shooters this year.  It's been a difficult time with lockdowns but the standard of shooting has been very high and you've managed to break records and keep the pressure on each other right up to the final round.  Great achievements all round.

 The results after Round 4:

Round 2 10 shot card Completed by Sunday 11th July

Round 3 10 shot card Completed by Sunday 15th August

2020 Competition - it's over and we have the winners!

A global pandemic and lockdowns might have slightly reduced the number of entrants this year, but it certainly didn't get in the way of some close competition and fantastic shooting

Congratulations to our new champion - Stephanie McNair from Palmerston North Girls' High School, who shot an incredible 497.29, just 2 inners off Jack Cavanagh’s Triple S record of 497.31 set in 2013.  Shania Harrison-Lee (Ashburton College) was second and Abby Pierce (Cambridge High School) was third. Well done.

Ashburton College stepped up in the final round shooting a brilliant 787.48 to take top honours ahead of Palmerston North Girls’ High. Cambridge High comfortably held on to third place.

In any other year Palmerston North Girls’ High’s score of 1941.81 would have comfortably won the event, but Ashburton College’s score of 1954.102 is a new record that will take some beating.

The graded competition was very tight after Round 3 so it was inevitable that positions would change after Round 4. Congrats to those that made the top 3 and well done to those that held on to their top 3 placing and to those that forced their way in. Good stuff.

The results:

Round 3 Results

The top shot this round was Stephanie McNair (Palmerston North Girls' High School) who improved on last round's 100.6 to post an incredible 100.8.  Fantastic shooting!!!  Shania Harrison-Lee (Ashburton College) shot a great 99.6 so the competition for the top 3 places is all on with only 3 points separating Stephanie, Shania and Abby.

Ashburton College has responded to Palmerston North Girls’ High’s challenge with a great team total of 392.19 moving them back into first place, just 2 point ahead of Palmerston North Girls’ High. Cambridge High School appears to have a firm hold of third place.

There’s still only 1 point (at the most) separating first and second places in each of B, C and D grades. So there won’t be anyone feeling comfortable going into the last round.

Don’t forget - Round 4 scores are due by Sunday 6th September.  This last round is a 20 shot one, so plenty of opportunity to catch up with those just ahead of you.  Have a great shoot!

Round 2 Results

The top shots this round were Stephanie McNair (Palmerston North Girls' High School) and Abby Pierce (Cambridge High School) both shooting 100.6. Well to both shooters - great shooting.

This moves Stephanie into top spot, just one point ahead of Shania Harrison-Lee and Abby. So it’s a very close race at this stage.

Palmerston North Girls' High had a great round scoring an impressive team total of 391.19 moving them into first place, just 1 point ahead of Ashburton College.

Only 1 point separates first and second place in each of the graded competitions, so again, a close competition all round.

Don’t forget - Round 3 scores are due by Sunday 23th August.

Also - don’t forget Round 4 is a 20 shot. If your newer shooters haven’t done these before it may be time to introduce them to that challenge, as round 4 is not that far away.

Keep up the great shooting.

Round 1 Results

The top shot this round was Shania Harrison-Lee (Ashburton College) with 99.7. Well done Shania. Not far behind are  Piper Benbow (Darfield High School) 98.4 and Stephanie McNair (Palmerston North Girls' High School) 98.3

Our defending champion Ashburton College has got off to a great start but Palmerston North Girls' High are only 3 points behind.  It's early days and the competition is wide open at this stage.

In the grades, Shania Harrison-Lee, the only Master Grader, is leading Master Grade!  Piper Benbow (99.4) is leading A Grade by a single inner from Stephanie McNair (98.3), with Abby Pierce and Emma Smith both on 97.4.  Nathan Allison (97.2) is leading B Grade with Charlotte McKenzie just behind on 96.5.  Cassie Truscott is leading C Grade on 97.3 with Amelia Burt (97.0) and Jack Jones (96.4) close behind.  D Grade is being led by Tayla Pryee on 97.4, with Madi Tourle (96.5) and Mitchell Nicholls (95.3) in hot pursuit!

A bit about the competition...

Junior shooters have been saying that there aren't enough regular secondary school competitions.

We know that the junior shooters:

So, we've decided to do something about that. We've put together a competition for junior shooters that can be shot at all levels over the course of the season.

Who is running this?

The Brooklyn Smallbore Rifle Club (BSRC) is Wellington's largest smallbore shooting club. For a several years now, the BSRC has provided facilities, equipment and coaching for Wellington secondary school shooters. A number of these juniors are currently in, or have been through, the TSNZ Junior Development Squad (JDS) so we've seen what happens when they're given support and competition. We know there are also a number of other clubs out there doing the same thing and there are a large number of juniors being trained and shooting on a regular basis.

Who is eligible to shoot?

The Triple S Champs are open to competitors from any NZ Secondary School.

Is this a team or an individual thing?

Both! Every shooter enters an individual category first. Then, if 4 or 5 individual shooters at a school want to, they can put a team together. Schools can enter as many teams as they wish (of course, one shooter can only shoot for one team!).

What are the categories?

Teams can be made up of shooters from any grades (including ungraded). The winning teams will be the one with the highest scores.

How much does it cost?

There is just one $10 fee per shooter for entry in all 3 sections.

What are the sections?

 Overall Individual, Graded and Teams.

When do entries need to be in by?

Your entries and payments need to be in by Sunday 20th May 2018.  You can download the entry form here: 2018 SSS Champs Entry Form (right-click and download)

What do they shoot, and by when?

Each shooter will complete 3 x 10's and 1 x 20 (i.e. it's shot over 4 rounds), with each round in 2018 being shot as follows:

Round 1 10 shot card Completed by Sunday 10th June (Term 2)

Round 2 10 shot card Completed by Sunday 8th July (Term 2)

Round 3 10 shot card Completed by Sunday 5th August (Term 3)

Round 4 20 shot card Completed by Sunday 2nd September (Term 3)

Note: This competition is sanctioned by TSNZ and the NZ Secondary Schools Sports Council.

Round 4 is done and the final results are in...

Congratulations to Oscar Robinson (Wellington College) our overall Triple S Champion. Finishing with a great 20 shot score of 196.12, the highest score of the round, so proving a very worthy champion.

Congratulations to Ashburton College for winning the Teams event. That’s 3 years in a row now. In order to enter two teams their manager made the call to enter the minimum of 4 members in each team, meaning they didn’t have the luxury of dropping their bottom score each round - so an impressive win.

The top 3 placings in each division are listed below. The full results are attached.

Thanks for supporting the competition and we look forward to seeing your shooters back again next year.

Results for Round 3

Well, our shooters in first and second from last round Oscar Robinson (Wellington College) and Lachie McNair (Palmerston North Boys’ High School) both shot 97.5 for round 3 and remain in first and second with just one point separating them. Lanelle McArthur (Ashburton College) closed the gap with 99.4 and sits just three points further back.

Ashburton College have scored the highest team score of all three rounds and have shot to the front with a two point lead over Amuri Area School. While King’s High School and Wellington College are battling it out for third and fourth.

Results for Round 2

Oscar Robinson from Wellington College backed up his top score for Round 1 by top scoring again in Round 2 with a very impressive 99.5, but Lachie McNair (Palmerston North Boys' High School) is only a point behind so the pressure is on at the top.

Amuri Area School, have swapped places with King's High School for first and second in the Teams event. They have a bit of a buffer back to Ashburton College in 3rd, but there is only 2 points separating the four teams in 3rd to 6th.

Results for Round 1

As is usually the case after just one round the individual sections are quite close at the top. Some great shooting with 4 scores of 98 and only 2 inners between them.

Oscar Robinson from Wellington College and Emma Smith from Ashburton College hold the joint lead on 98.5, closely followed by Lachie McNair (Palmerston North Boys' High School) and James Young (King's High School) just 1 and 2 inners behind.

Each grade is being fiercely contested with only a few points or inners separating the top shooters, so of course it’s anyones game at this stage.

King's High School has got off to a cracking start with a 6 point lead over Amuri Area School, who are only 3 points ahead of 3rd place Samuel Marsden Collegiate School

That's it! The competition for 2016 is over and we have the winners...

Well done to Summer O'Dwyer - our new SSS Champion for 2016, and to Ashburton College - our top team for 2016.

The top 3 in each category are:

Team - Ashburton College, Darfield High School, Rangiora High School

A Grade - Jess Burgess-Smith

B Grade - Summer O'Dwyer, Lanelle Miller-McArthur, Julian Craib

C Grade - Will Benbow, Samantha Welsh, Brogan Baldwin

D Grade - Georgia Karantze, Callum Beardslee, Lisa Hammond

Ungraded - Marcus Subritzky, Bridget Hutching, Conner Campbell

Overall - Summer O'Dwyer, Lanelle Miller-McArthur, Jess Burgess-Smith

Certificates have been printed and will be sent shortly, along with the badges, to the top three winners in each category.

That's it - the 2015 SSS Champs are over and the results are in!

Morris Stevenson from Kings High has held on to the overall lead with another great score of 197.11 and has finished 6 points ahead of Lanelle McArthur (Ashburton College) and Cameron Eveleigh (Palmerston North Boys) who both needed to shoot well to secure their top 3 placings.

Well done Morris - our new 2015 Triple S Champion.

Ashburton College have gained first place in the Team event increasing their lead by 1 point over Rangiora High in second place. I understand Rangiora beat Ashburton in a recent inter school event, but Ashburton have a well deserved win here, gaining a 6 point lead in Round 1 and then winning each of the following rounds by just 1 or 2 points. Third place goes to Wellington College who saved their best until last and overtook Southland Boys. A special mention to the Kings High #1 team who, after a bad start in Round 1, top scored this round.

The top 3 placings in the Graded competitions are:

A Grade - Morris Stevenson
B Grade - Shaun Simpson, Callum Osborne, Jack Welsh
C Grade - Lanelle McArthur, Cameron Eveleigh, Suzannah Smith
D Grade - Matthew Little, Jayden Callett, Summer O’Dwyer
First Years - Annie McDonald, Cameron, DeRooy, Brooke Maslin

Congratulations to each of you.

The National Secondary Schools' Shooting Championship - better known as The NZ Triple S Champs - is New Zealand's newest shooting competition and is now in its fifth year. It is open to all NZ secondary school students. This is aimed at giving secondary school shooters the chance to compete nationally for both individual and team glory and recognition.

Why create a new competition?

What we've been hearing from the junior shooters at our club is that there are not enough regular secondary school competitions.
