August Gould was top shot in the college training squad this week, shooting a very commendable 94.3, a new PB for her. Other new PBs in the squad were shot this week by Dan Slater 87.1, Holly Milne 85.1 and Bex Amos 83.2. Sarah May continues to shoot well, scoring 88.2 and an estimated closed champ score of 90.2. In D Grade, Neakiry Kivi also shot a new PB of 97.2!! - very impressive for someone who had never fired a shot before the college open day at the beginning of March. There were many great scores shot in the other grades as well, noted below:

C Grade: Erin Little a new PB of 98.5; Stephen Thessman 96.5; Greg Mason and Callum Osborne both 96.3; and Jialin Sae-Jiw 95.4
B Grade: Sergey Kladnitski 99.4; Maor Ben-Shahar 98.4; and Craig Fair 98.2
A Grade: David Grain 100.6; Ross Little 99.7; Dianne Grain and Jess Fair both 99.5
Master Grade: Alex Woodwark 99.7

Evan Little scored the best 20-shot card of 197.09 followed by Michael Grain 196.12 and David Grain 196.10, while Stephen Thessman's 192.6 was a new PB for him.

Wellington gained their second win in the NDC competition on Thursday, beating Southland in both the open and junior sections and going down by a mere three points in the composite section. This gave Wellington 9 points to Southland's 4 points keeping Wellington at the top of the Division 2 table. The next round is against Taranaki on 5 June, which is likely to be a much tougher match.

Congratulations to Michael Grain on winning Master Grade at the Poroutawhao Open Champs at Levin on Saturday with the ultimate score of 300 - brilliant effort!

A reminder that Round 1 closed champs targets need to be shot on or before Sunday 25 May.
