With 10 visitors, it was certainly a busy afternoon.  Many thanks to all members present who pitched in to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

Congratulations to Jack MacCormick on his new PB of 92.2.  Top shot on the rest was Damian with 90.1, followed by Harry 83.1 and Harriet 81.0.  Summer O’Dwyer is shooting extremely well in D Grade, scoring 97.1 and 97.3 this week.  The next highest in D Grade were separated by only a few inners: Phil Cox 94.4, Ben Cox 94.2, Hamish Guthrey 94.1 and Dave Wilks 94.1.  Neil Maddever shot best in C Grade with 96.3, Craig Fair in B Grade with 93.2, and Dianne Grain in A Grade with 97.4.  Michael Grain and Pratik Tailor are enjoying a close competition in Master Grade, top shot this week being Michael with 100.6 followed an inner behind by Pratik with 100.5.  Michael also top-scored in the 20-shot competition with a very nice 200.12.

The Interassociation Junior match was held on Tuesday.  With 11 of the 12 team members from Brooklyn, there was much camaraderie.  Many of the team shot at or above their average, and congratulations go to Ross Little on being top shot for Wellington.  Full results from all associations will be available at the end of the season.

On Thursday Round 4 of the interclub competition took place.  It was a great night for Brooklyn, firstly with Summer O’Dwyer shooting a new PB of 98.6 which gained bonus points for our C Grade team which also recorded the best team score shot in this competition so far this season, and then the Brooklyn Open Grade team breaking the current record by six inners to score 791.49.  Top shot in the Open team was Pratik Tailor with 199.14.  Both teams recorded wins in this round.  The B Grade match is being held in the next round on Wednesday 29 July.

A reminder that those selected as emergencies for teams do shoot and are eligible for representative badges, so if selected please ensure you do turn up.  Only those noted as “on call” do not shoot unless called upon to replace a team member or emergency.

Have you seen the club’s new centenary jackets?  They look extremely smart.  If you would like to purchase one ($89) please let David know as soon as possible (d.grain@xtra.co.nz).

We have received a reminder from the WSRA Executive to throw away any individual rubbish each week so that other users of the range are not having to clean up after previous groups, and preferably to take home shot targets as there is no official recycling at the range.

Thanks to those who have indicated they are available to help at the Wellington Open Champs on Saturday 11 July.  It would be great to have as many members as possible shoot in these champs.  We have been asked to supply two types of cake, biscuits or scones, etc for sale during the afternoon.  Could you please let me know if you are able to undertake this task?  Andrea has kindly volunteered one so we just need one more.  We may also need to help with kitchen duties during the match, preparing and serving light snacks such as toasted sandwiches, filled rolls, etc, so if anyone is able to help with this, that would also be much appreciated.

A second-hand Anschutz 1907 rifle is available for purchase.  If you are interested, please discuss with a senior member next Sunday.

Please remember that you should be recording all your competition scores, representative scores, open champs, closed champs, Triple S and interclub scores on the grading spreadsheet emailed out earlier this season.  If you have any difficulty, please discuss with a senior member.  This spreadsheet determines your grade for the following season, and needs to be completed by every shooter each year.

Brooklyn are rostered for cleaning duties this month.  This will be undertaken between the two sessions on Sunday 19 July.
