Many of those taking part in the introductory programme showed a phenomenal improvement over their first week scores, with 14 scores in the 80s and two in the 90s.  Top shots this week were Blake Hynson and Yiannis Fam with 90.0, followed by Amalamo Simi and Bella Gould with 88.0.  Once again, many thanks to the following members for helping run the programme this week.

It was decided to award the Perkins trophy, re-presented to the club by descendants of one of the club’s original members, for the ladder competition.  This is a competition that can be won by any club member, from the newest right through to the most experienced.  The aim is to shoot regularly and score higher than the person you are challenging or being challenged by.  In doing so you will get two points, and these points add up over the whole season.  The person with the highest number of points wins the competition.  Each week a chart will be displayed at the club showing shooters’ ranking by points.

A reminder that Brooklyn are on cleaning duty next week – please bring along vacuum cleaners, mops and other cleaning products.  The more people available to help with this task, the quicker it will be accomplished.

Meredith has been doing a great job of organising our club dinners for a couple of years.  This year we’re looking to share this task around, and a roster is being organised.  Could you please let Meredith know any dates that would suit you to organise dinner.  If you are able to help out with dinner once or twice this season, that would be much appreciated.  Usually there are around 12-16 people to cater for, and the cost of ingredients is covered by the $5 payment each person makes for dinner.

David will be making up the scoreboard charts for the club competition in the next few weeks.  In order to get the charts as accurate as possible, please let me know (if you haven’t already) if you are not intending to return to shooting this year, or if you are not a current member but do intend to shoot this year.
