- Round 1 is shot at the Keene Range, Petone. Round 2 is shot two weeks later at the Royal Tiger Range, Newtown.
- Teams consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of five shooters (best three scores to count for the school team total).
- Shooting using rests is not permitted.
- All team members shoot 1 x 10-shot target in each round.
- Trophies will be presented at the conclusion of Round 2.
- The top 12 shooters from Wellington schools will form a Wellington secondary schools team to shoot in a match against other provinces at the Royal Tiger Range, Newtown. This will be a 2 x 10-shot match.
