Club Shooting
In club shooting, Luis Perez shot a new PB of 93.0 - congratulations! Jaz H's 98.7 led B Grade ahead of Mark R's 96.2. Bex B's 99.6 was the top shot for the night. Bex went on to score the highest 20-shot of the night too with 199.10.
Inter-Secondary Schools results
The Inter-Secondary Schools match was held on Sunday. Four of our members competed (Megan B, Jessica G, Analin R and Kate Y) and all achieved great results. The Marsden team (Jessica, Analin and Kate) placed 12th out of 27 teams with a total score of 385.27. Jessica shot a new PB of 93.4 on her first card - congratulations! Megan and Kate both made the North Island Secondary Schools team with their respective scores of 298.17 and 285.11. Analin missed out on a place in the team by only one point. Megan top scored out of all shooters to win the Individual Gold Medal - great shooting!
The day continued with the North v South match, which was a tough competition. The South Island took it out with a score of 1921.79 against the North Island's 1879.65. Megan top scored again (199.15) and was named captain of the New Zealand team. She also took out the Top Girl Trophy with her aggregate score of 497.32.
The day ended with the New Zealand team shooting against the British Schools team on UK targets. The NZ team scored a commendable 1952, with Megan shooting 196. The results for this match will be released once the British schools compete in late 2022/early 2023.
Club Shooting
Many thanks to everyone who helped with the cleaning this Sunday. The club rooms looked spotless! In shooting, Ben D's 96.4 led the lower grades ahead of Kate Y's 95.3. Mark B's 99.6 was highest in B Grade ahead of Jaz H's 97.4. Top shot for the night was hotly contested. David G came out ahead with an impressive 100.9 ahead of Bex B's 100.5. Bex went on to shoot the top 20-shot of the night with 198.14, one inner ahead of Erin L's 198.13.

Kate Y's 94.2 led the lower grades this week ahead of Luis P's new PB of 92.3 - congratulations! Mark B top scored in B Grade with 99.4. Top shot of the night was shared between Bex B and Evan L, who both scored 99.5. Erin L's 198.11 was the top 20-shot followed by Bex B's 197.6. Inge L shot a new 20-shot PB of 196.9 - congratulations!
SSS Champs results
The final results of the SSS Champs have been published and can be found here: https://www.bsrc.org.nz/ index.php/ssc/56-new-zealand- secondary-schools-shooting- championship-sss-champs. Congratulations to Megan B who placed 1st in Master Grade and 1st overall with an impressive score of 495.33.
Candyman Cup results
The Candyman Cup pits the winners of the Rees Scroll against the winners of the Andrew & Faulkner (the South Island 'equivalent' to the Rees Scroll). As the 2022 Rees Scroll winners, Wellington were up against Canterbury. The team shot an impressive score of 3923.205, 22 points higher than their Rees Scroll score. This was more than enough to take the cup home, beating Canterbury's score of 3888.170. It's been a great season for Wellington! Top shot from Brooklyn was Bex B with a score of 396.26.
Wgtn v Hutt Valley C Grade results
The annual Wellington v Hutt Valley C Grade match was shot on Friday night. The team had a very convincing win, scoring 1886.53 against Hutt Valley's 1798.29. Analin R was top shot from Brooklyn with a score of 189.4.
Interclub winners v Hutt Valley results
The Wellington v Hutt Valley interclub winners competition was also shot on Friday. Brooklyn's B Grade team competed against Upper Hutt. The team shot very well, winning with a score of 770.29 against Upper Hutt's 743.16. Top shot was Dianne G with 194.9. Brooklyn's Open Grade team shot against Wainuiomata, winning with a score of 785.37 against their 774.35. Top shot was Megan B with 189.12.
Club Shooting
Last week at the club Luis Perez shot a new PB of 91.1 - congratulations! Kate Y's 98.5 led the lower grades. It was a close competition in B Grade. Mark R's 98.5 was the top score, one inner ahead of Inge L's 98.4. Evan L was top shot of the night with 98.5. David G led the 20-shots with 199.13 ahead of Evan's 198.10 and Mark R's 197.11.

Club Shooting
With only a few weeks to go until the end of the season it's great to see so many people filling the gaps in their club competition shoots. Analin R's 96.5 was the top score in the lower grades. Inge L led B Grade with a 99.4 followed by Jaz H's 98.4. Top shot of the night was shared by Bex B and Megan B, who both scored 100.7. They both also shot a second hundred (100.4 and 100.6 respectively) - great shooting! The 20-shot competition was almost as close. Evan L top scored for the night with 198.11, one inner ahead of Bex's 198.10. Kate Y shot a new 20-shot PB of 194.5 - congratulations!
Interclub results
The final round of the interclub competition was held last Tuesday. Our C Grade team had a bye but it was still an important match for us. Melrose had to win their match against Wellington Central to win for the season. They managed to beat Wellington Central by two points, placing Brooklyn second for the season.
Our B Grade team had an impressive win against South Wellington, recording their highest score for the season of 387.18. This placed them top of the table and they will now shoot against the Hutt Valley B Grade Interclub winners next week - well done team! Mark R top scored for the team with 98.6.
Our Open Grade team also recorded a win against South Wellington with a score of 782.34 against their 770.33. This placed them top of the table and they will now shoot against the Hutt Valley Open Grade Interclub winners next week - well done team! Bex B top scored for the team with 198.10.
Osmond Shield and Wright Cup
Two of the biggest Wellington matches were held on Saturday night. The Wright Cup is competed for within the Wellington association by teams of 6 D and C Graders. This year Brooklyn competed against Melrose and Wellington Central. It was a tough competition with many shooters scoring well. Melrose were ahead almost from the beginning and won with a score of 467.15. Congratulations to Jessica G and Chris D as first-time team members, and to Analin R, whose 95.2 was the top score for the team.
The Osmond Shield is competed for within the Wellington association by teams of 8, with four spots B Grade or below and 4 spots Open. This year Brooklyn competed against Melrose and Wellington Central. It was a very close match. Brooklyn were one point ahead of Melrose at the halfway mark, with Wellington Central four points behind them. The team maintained their lead and managed to extend it by a couple of points, finishing 1st with a score of 767.29, three points ahead of Melrose. Congratulations team, and well done Bex, who top scored with 100.4.
