Another busy week with more than 40 people shooting or assisting.  Welcome to our new shooters, Phil Luke and Georgia Beatson.  Phil shot a few cards off the rest achieving excellent results, then moved into jacket and sling yesterday and has already scored an 89 – great shooting!  Georgia returns to shooting, having shot at the old range in 2013 as a Y9 pupil, and easily picked up the basics again.

Congratulations to Summer O’Dwyer on shooting yet another 100 – a new PB of 100.6.

Mark Baines and Dianne Grain shared top honours in the 20-shot competition this week with 194.8.  Dianne also had the best score in the higher grades of 99.7, very closely followed by Evan Little with 99.6.  Summer’s 100.6 led B Grade, and Mark Riley scored 98.6 to be highest in C Grade with Luisa Kristen second best with 97.1.  The top five D Grade scores this week were shot by Inge Little 94.5, Wiko du Toit 94.3, Sarah May 94.2, Amalamo Simi 93.3 and Leilani Fam 93.3 (an inner ahead of big brother Yiannis).

The Interassociation C Grade representative match was held on Monday.  Once again it was great to see the large number of Brooklyn members nominating and being selected for the team (8 out of 12).  Congratulations to top shot, Georgia Karantze, on a great shoot, scoring 192.7.  Full results will be available at the end of the season.

A number of members travelled to Martinborough for the Wairarapa Champs on Saturday.  Official results are not yet available, but excellent scores were shot by Meredith Ackrill in Master Grade (298.22 including 100.9) and Mark Riley in C Grade (288).

We are now well into the second half of the shooting season.  Hopefully everyone is up to date with inputting their scores into their grading returns spreadsheet.  It is much easier to do this after each shoot than to try and find scores at the end of the season, and it’s always interesting to see how each score affects your average.

Ryan Taylor from Horowhenua will soon be competing in his third Olympic Games.  Check out this You Tube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnJS0qO7W1A
