There were many 100s shot yesterday. Congratulations particularly to Inge Little on shooting her first ever 100 (part of a new 20-shot PB of 195.5), to Pratik Tailor on his FOUR 100s one of which included the ultimate 100.10, and to Oscar Robinson on his new PB of 100.7. Other new PBs were shot by Amy Nathanson 94.2 and William Chen 94.1.
Top shots in D Grade this week were Anna 96.0, Casey Israelson 94.2, Amy Nathanson 94.2, William Chen 94.1 and Melchior Meares 92.0. Melchior was unlucky on his other card to have a miss, particularly with a final score 87.2! Oscar Robinson’s 100.7 was the best C Grade score, ahead of Erin Little with 97.5. Wiko du Toit scored highest in B Grade with 98.6, followed by Georgia Karantze 97.5 and Mark Riley 97.3. In A Grade David Grain shot 99.6, four inners ahead of Summer O’Dwyer on 99.2. And Pratik Tailor’s 100.10 was the best Master Grade score this week. Pratik also had the two highest 20-shot scores of 199.15 and 199.11, followed by Dianne Grain and Evan Little, both with 198.10.
The interassociation junior match was shot on Tuesday night – disappointingly two of the selected team did not turn up, moving the emergencies up into the team. The team result was therefore lower than in previous years. However top shot was Oscar Robinson with 195.09 followed by Erin Little with 193.06. Full results will be available in September.
The triangular B Grade, women’s and junior matches were shot against Hutt Valley on Saturday afternoon. While each match was convincingly won by Hutt Valley, Wellington scored higher in the B Grade and women’s matches than last year. Erin Little was top Brooklyn shooter in the B Grade match, ahead of Mark Riley on countback, both scoring 192.7. Meredith Ackrill had the best score in the women’s match for Wellington of 196.12, and Erin Little’s 192.7 was the best Brooklyn score in the junior match.
At the National Indoor Champs shot yesterday, Erin Little finished 3rd equal in C Grade with 289.14 winning both prize money and a medal, and Pratik Tailor finished in 4th place in Master Grade with a very commendable 398.26. In other grades, top 20 placings were as follows: Evan Little 14th in A Grade with 391.21; Inge Little 9th in C Grade with 288.7 (including her first ever 100!), and Anna 12th in D Grade with 283.2.
