Wellington Teams entered in the Teams of 10 competition at the weekend came home victorious.  Wellington #1 Team won the Rees Scroll - congratulations to Bex, David, Evan, Mark, Meredith, Stephen for an outstanding achievement (and to team members from Wellington Central and Melrose clubs).  Rob and I were in the Wellington #2 Team, which came third in the Jim Hart Trophy.

We have completed the first five-week series of the club competition.  The two weeks between the series (last night and this Sunday) are a good opportunity to catch up on competition cards if needed.  We also schedule any visitors on one of these “free nights”.  On Sunday we are expecting three visitors to come and try out target shooting.

Club shooting

Last night saw some very good progress among our new members. Congratulations to Eli on shooting an outstanding 98.5 - awesome achievement!

Alex, Marek and Myles are progressing to using scopes, which can be a challenging process.

Club chat

Last night we discussed natural point of aim.  There is a very good explanation on Wikipedia, I recommend that newer shooters read this to reinforce the coaching you are receiving.  Just read “move your hips” wherever it says the shooter moves their feet.

If you missed the briefing a couple of weeks ago on the club competition and secondary school competitions, Stephen will be happy to fill you in.

TSNZ Membership Cards

These were handed out to new members last night.  See Meredith if you were not there last night.

Round 2 of the National Districts Championship is on Thursday night, and Round 1 of the Wellington Association inter-club competition is on Tuesday 20 May.  Please look out for emails from Selectors Bex and Mark naming teams.
