It was a slightly quieter night yesterday but that enabled us to do a bit more coaching and help a few members sort out some issues with their shooting. We didn't have any other competitions during the week, so quiet overall. 

Interassociation matches

The Junior and B grade interassociation matches are tomorrow night. Target Shooting NZ runs interassociation postal competitions each year, and Wellington has entered teams in each of the grades (A, B, C, D) as well as Open, Junior, Women and Veteran competitions. Each match is either 2 x 10 shot cards or 1 x 20 shot card (depending on the grade) and there are five members in each team. These will be shot on Tuesday nights over the next couple of months at the Royal Tiger range, starting tomorrow with the Junior and B grade matches. Congratulations to Filly and Eli who have been selected for the Junior team, Alex who is Junior emergency, and Mark B and Mark R who are both in the B grade team. We'll see you at the range by 7pm tomorrow.

Looking ahead, on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 June the Hutt Valley association is running the Hutt Valley Open Championships, at the Keene Range in Petone. An Open Championship is open to any affiliated shooters (like you!) who want to enter. You shoot 3 cards against other people in the same grade as you, and there are prizes for the top scores in each grade. I highly encourage you to come along and have a go. For those of you who are at school, you will be shooting at the Keene range in a school match later in the year so this is an opportunity to try out this range ahead of time. I've attached the poster for this match. If you want to enter, talk to one of the coaches next weekend so we can get your gear and a coach there at the right time.

Closed Champs and SSS Champs

It was pleasing to see many of you shoot your Closed Champs and/or SSS Champs cards yesterday. The cut-off for shooting the first rounds of both of these competitions is next Sunday, so if you haven't shot your card(s) yet please make sure you shoot them on Sunday.
