Club Shooting
Finn Ashby top scored in C Grade for the night with 95.2 ahead of Kate Yu's 94.2. With all our B Graders present it was a tough competition. Dianne Grain's 99.5 led the pack ahead of Mark Baines' 98.2 and a flurry of 97s from the others. In the higher grades, Bex Baines' 98.7 was the highest score followed by David Grain's 98.6. Bex was also top shot in the 20s, scoring 199.17 (including a 100.10 - congratulations!).
Wairarapa Open Champs results
The Wairarapa Open Champs were held on Saturday 25 June. Several Brooklyn members attended. Bex Baines shot extremely well, scoring 299.19 to place 2nd in Master Grade.

Club Shooting
The afternoon started with a training session for our junior shooters. Five shooters attended and had their positions checked. It was a good opportunity to go through the fundamentals of positioning again and gave the coaches the chance to have a detailed look at each shooter's position and gear. The shooters then participated in a couple of exercises concentrating on their natural point of aim. Many thanks to the coaches who came along and made this session possible - I think we all learnt something too!
The training clearly had a positive effect because Kate Yu went on to shoot a new PB of 98.7 for her club 10-shot - congratulations! She was top shot in C Grade for the night, closely followed by Analin Rudd with 96.3. The fantastic shooting continued in all grades. Inge Little led B Grade with a new PB of 100.6 - congratulations! Top shot for the night was hotly contested with David Grain also shooting 100.6, but Erin Little scored a couple of inners higher with her 100.8. The 20-shot competition was almost as close. Bex Baines came out on top with a score of198.11 ahead of both Meredith Ackrill and Erin Little who scored 197.10.
Interclub Round 3
Round 3 of the Interclub competition was shot on Tuesday night. The B Grade team was up against Wellington Central and shot very well, scoring 380.10 against their 374.10. Top shot was Mark Riley with 97.3. The Open team was up against South Wellington. They recorded a win with a score of 782.38 against SW's 763.23. Top shot was Meredith Ackrill with 198.12. Congrats on another clean sweep for Brooklyn!
Closed Champs Round 2 results
The results for the second round of the Closed Champs have been published. Several Brooklyn members continue to hold good placings:

Club Shooting
It was a competitive night at the club with many great scores shot. Kate Yu's 95.3 led C Grade ahead of Analin Rudd's 94.1. In B Grade, Mark Baines' 98.3 was the top score followed by Inge Little's 96.2. Top 10-shot of the night was hotly contested. Megan Brodie's 99.8 came in 2 inners ahead of three 99.6s shot by Meredith Ackrill, Evan Little and Stephen Thessman. The top 20-shot of the night was also a close battle. Megan Brodie top scored again with 197.8 ahead of 196s shot by Meredith Ackrill, Bex Baines, Erin Little and Mark Baines.
NDC Round 3 results
Round 3 of the National District Champs was shot on Thursday night. Wellington was up against the Hutt Valley. The Open team secured a convincing win, scoring 2921.140 against the opposition's 2913.119. But Hutt Valley were too strong in the Composite and Junior teams, scoring 1455.67 and 568.15 against our 1437.49 and 559.13. Top shot from Brooklyn was Bex Baines with 297.22. Analin Rudd top scored in the Junior team with 190.3.
Hutt Valley Open results
Several of our shooters attended the Hutt Valley Open on Saturday. Congratulations to Mark Baines for coming 2nd in B Grade with a score of 292.11 and to Erin Little for coming 3rd in A Grade with a score of 296.16.

Club Shooting
It was a quiet night at the club with many members enjoying a long weekend away. Top shot in C Grade was Kate Yu with 90.1. Mark Baines' 97.5 led B Grade. In the higher grades, Erin Little's 98.5 was the top score. Erin and Bex Baines jointly top scored in the 20-shot competition, both recording 197.9.
Interclub Round 2
Round 2 of the Interclub competition was held on Tuesday 24 May. Our C Grade team had a convincing win against Melrose, recording a score of 367.9 to their 354.12. Kate Yu and Analin Rudd jointly top scored, both shooting 94.3. The B Grade and Open teams had a bye.

Club Shooting
Kate Yu's 97.5 led C Grade ahead of Analin Rudd's 93.3. In B Grade, Mark Riley's 98.5 was the top 10-shot, followed by Jaz Hamilton's 97.3. Megan Brodie continued her fine form to shoot an estimated 100.6 and 99.7 to be top shot overall ahead of Evan Little's 99.5
Both Analin and Kate shot new 20-shot PBs (194.7 and 192.7 respectively) - great shooting! The top 20-shot of the night was 198.14 recorded by Evan Little ahead of Erin Little's 198.9.
NDC Round 2 results
The second round of the National District Champs was shot on Thursday night, with Wellington facing the Manawatu Marauders. It was another tough round. The Composite team secured a win by two points, scoring 1451.58 against the opposition's 1449.49. But Manawatu were too strong in the Open and Junior teams, scoring 2928.133 and 579.26 against our 2910.139 and 573.21. Top shot from Brooklyn was Bex Baines with 297.19.
Closed Champ Round 1 results
The results for the first round of the Closed Champs have been published. Brooklyn members are performing well in several grades and categories:

Open training session on Tuesday
WSRA has agreed to the use of the range on Tuesday evenings for open training when interclub competitions aren’t being held. Any member can come and practice on Tuesdays from 7:30pm. The charge is $5 per person, and everyone needs to pitch in to help on the night. Those members using club equipment must ensure that a licensed, key-holding BSRC member will be in attendance to give you access to equipment.
On Tuesday 31 May, Evan will be in attendance. All BSRC members are welcome.
